Additional State-Specific Privacy Disclosures

This additional state-specific privacy disclosure page ("Disclosure") supplements the SUNSTAR Privacy Notice and is effective as of the date indicated above.

California Privacy Rights 
These additional disclosures apply only to California consumers as defined in the California Privacy Rights Act and the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”). Under California law, California consumers have the rights to: 1) know what personal information is being collected about them; 2) know whether their personal information is sold or disclosed, and to whom; 3) say ‘no’ to the sale of their personal information or sharing of their personal information for interest-based advertising; 4) access their personal information; and 5) not be discriminated against for exercising their privacy rights under California law. California law allows California residents to request information regarding our disclosures in the prior calendar year, if any, of their personal information to third parties. We will attempt to provide you with the requested information within thirty (30) days of receipt. Please note that California law does not cover all information sharing. Our disclosure only includes information covered by the law. You also have the right to request, at any time, that we delete your personal information and that we ask our service providers, contractors, and other third-parties with whom we work to do the same. Your request will be honored except in instances where we are legally required to maintain your personal information. You may also, at any time, opt out of or limit our sharing of your personal information with third parties. To make any of the requests listed above, please fill out our Contact form. Below is some additional information for California consumers:

1. Categories of personal information collected. The personal information that SUNSTAR collects, or has collected from consumers in the twelve months prior to the effective date of this Disclosure, fall into the following categories established by the California Privacy Rights Act:
o identifiers such as your real name, alias, postal address, phone numbers, internet protocol address, email address, your SUNSTAR account log-in information (including but not limited to account name).
o personal information, such as a credit card number or other payment information;
o information that may reveal age, gender, race, sexual orientation, or other protected classifications, for example if you voluntarily submit this information in a product review.
o commercial information, including records or personal property, products or services purchased, obtained, or considered, or other purchasing or consuming histories or tendencies;
o internet or other electronic network activity information, including, but not limited to, browsing history, search history, and information regarding a consumer’s interaction with an internet website, application, or advertisement;
o audio or visual information, such as voice recordings when you speak to a Customer Service representative; and
o inferences drawn from any of the other personal information to create a profile about you reflecting your preferences.;

2. Categories of personal information disclosed for a business purpose. The personal information that SUNSTAR disclosed to the third-parties identified in the "Does SUNSTAR Share Your Personal Information?" section of the SUNSTAR Privacy Notice about consumers for a business purpose in the twelve months prior to the effective date of this Disclosure falls into the following categories established by the California Privacy Rights Act:
o identifiers such as your real name, postal address, phone numbers, internet protocol address, or a government identifier for example if we use a third-party carrier to deliver your order, or if we use a third-party service to verify your identity;
o personal information, such as a credit card number or other payment information, for example if we use a third-party payment processor;
o information that may reveal age, gender, race, sexual orientation, or other protected classifications, for example if you choose to participate in a survey distributed by a survey provider;
o commercial information, including records or personal property, products or services purchased, obtained, or considered, or other purchasing or consuming histories or tendencies, if a third-party service provider is assisting to provide that product or service to you;
o internet or other electronic network activity information, including, but not limited to, browsing history, search history, and information regarding a consumer’s interaction with an internet website, application, or advertisement, such as if we use a service provider to help us gather crash reports for analyzing the health of our devices and services;
o audio or visual information, for example, recordings of customer service phone calls for quality assurance purposes,
o professional or employment-related information, for example if you choose to participate in a survey distributed by a survey provider; and
o inferences drawn from any of the other personal information to create a profile about you reflecting your preferences, characteristics, psychological trends, predispositions, behavior, attitudes, intelligence, abilities, and aptitudes, for example if we use a service provider to help us optimize the accuracy of your shipping address to make sure your order reaches you.

3. Categories of personal information shared. As explained in the "What about Advertising?" section in our Privacy Notice, SUNSTAR shares limited information to help ensure you receive more useful and relevant SUNSTAR ads and to measure their effectiveness. Any personal information SUNSTAR may have shared for the purpose of cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined by the California Privacy Rights Act, in the twelve months prior to the effective date of this Disclosure falls into the following categories:
o identifiers such as a unique personal identifier, including a cookie, a device identifier, or any other identifiers such as internet protocol address; we never share your name or other information that directly identifies you.
o internet or other electronic network activity information, including, but not limited to, browsing history, search history, and information regarding a consumer’s interaction with an internet website, application, or advertisement,

The categories of third parties with whom SUNSTAR may share personal information for the purpose of cross-context behavioral advertising are identified in the "Does SUNSTAR Share Your Personal Information?" and "What About Advertising?" sections of the SUNSTAR Privacy Notice

4. Your Data Rights: You have certain data rights under the California Privacy Rights Act, including to request information about the collection of your personal information by SUNSTAR, to access your personal information in a portable format, and to correct or delete your personal information. If you wish to do any of these things, please contact our Customer Service through our Contact form. Additionally, you have the right to opt out of the sharing of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as defined by the California Privacy Rights Act. To do so, please contact our Customer Service through our Contact form. You may also have the right to appeal the denial of any of these rights by submitting a form that will be provided to you if we deny a data request in accordance with California law. Depending on your data choices, certain services may be limited or unavailable.
To ensure the security of your SUNSTAR account, we will generally ask you to verify your request using the contact information you have already provided. If you do not have an account, or if you are an authorized agent under the California Privacy Rights Act, please contact our Customer Service through our Contact form.

5. No sale of personal information. In the twelve months prior to the effective date of this Disclosure, SUNSTAR has not sold any personal information of consumers, as those terms are defined under the California Privacy Rights Act.

6. California Privacy Rights Act Sensitive Personal Information Disclosure. The categories of data that SUNSTAR collects and discloses for a business purpose include "sensitive personal information" as defined under the California Privacy Rights Act. SUNSTAR does not use or disclose sensitive personal information for any purpose not expressly permitted by the California Privacy Rights Act.

7. California Privacy Rights Act Retention Disclosure
We keep your personal information to enable your continued use of SUNSTAR Services, for as long as it is required in order to fulfill the relevant purposes described in the SUNSTAR Privacy Notice, as permitted or as may be required by law, or as otherwise communicated to you. For example, we retain your transaction history so that you can review past purchases (and repeat orders if desired) and what addresses you have shipped orders to, and to improve the relevance of products and content we recommend.

8. California Privacy Rights Act Non-discrimination Statement. SUNSTAR will not discriminate against any consumer for exercising their rights under the California Privacy Rights Act.

 

Do Not Share My Personal Information

As explained in “What About Advertising?” section, some of your personal information, as that term is defined under the California Privacy Rights Act, collected through our web-site may be shared with third-party ad companies. To learn the details about the circumstances in which we may share your information with such third-parties, please see "What About Advertising?" of our Privacy Notice.
If you are a resident of California, you have a right of opt-out of such sharing of your personal information under the California Privacy Rights Act and you can exercise or have any agent who are authorized by you exercise of such right. To exercise your right to opt-out, please submit your request via this Contact form.

Colorado Privacy Rights
Colorado residents have the right to opt out of targeted (behavioral) advertising, the sale of their personal information, and behavioral profiling. Nevada Privacy Rights
Nevada residents have certain rights with respect to “covered information”, which includes first and last name, a home or other physical address, which includes the name of a street and the name of a city or town, an e-mail address, a telephone number, a social security number, an identifier that allows a specific person to be contacted either physically or online, and any other information concerning a person collected from the person through our website or online service maintained by us in combination with an identifier in a form that makes the person personally identifiable. Nevada residents may submit a request directing us not to make certain disclosures of covered information and personal information we maintain about them. Virginia Privacy Rights
Virginia residents have the right to know, access and confirm their personal information, to delete personal information, to correct inaccuracies in personal information, to data portability (i.e., easy, portable access to all pieces of personal information held by us), to opt out of the processing of personal information for targeted advertising purposes, to opt out of the sale of personal information, to opt out of profiling based on personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising any of the foregoing rights. Connecticut Privacy Rights
Connecticut residents have the right to know, access and confirm their personal information, to delete personal information, to correct inaccuracies in personal information, to data portability (i.e., easy, portable access to all pieces of personal information held by us), to opt out of the processing of personal information for targeted advertising purposes, to opt out of the sale of personal information, to opt out of profiling based on personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising any of the foregoing rights. *We note that certain of the state laws described above do not actually apply to Sunstar, and Sunstar’s compliance with those laws is entirely voluntarily. SUNSTAR reserves the right to refuse unreasonable requests under laws that do not actually apply to SUNSTAR.
